Nature, Birding & DIY

Hi there, and thanks for stopping by!

I'm a husband to a wonderful wife, father of two school-aged kids, and a hands-on kind of guy living in a quiet village nestled between Heidelberg and the ancient town of Speyer in Germany. Just a stone’s throw from our home lies a small nature reserve floodplain forest.

I never considered myself much of a nature guy. But life has a way of surprising you. Between the daily hustle, an office job and the constant whirlwind of family life, I’ve found peace in two places I never expected —nature and DIY.

Whether I’m fixing something around the house, doing a little project for my kids, or just optimizing my workshop (which is anyway the biggest project), I’ve come to realize how deeply fulfilling it is to create, repair, and explore. And lately, I’ve fallen into the world of birding, which is a truly amazing hobby.

This diary isn’t a how-to guide. It’s a place to document my projects, share my thoughts as I roam through the woods, and maybe spark a bit of inspiration for you too. And if you’ve got ideas, suggestions, or just want to chat—I’d love to hear from you. Wouldn't it be great to create some new connections and go for a Birding walk together someday

So take a look around, enjoy roaming around the stories and pictures, and above all: don’t forget to go outside or build something. It's just the best.
